Summer Quarter Sunday School Classes: June 6, 2010 - August 31, 2010
Adults meet for Sunday school at 9:00 am in the hospitality room (lower level). Children are dismissed from the worship service at approximately 10:30 am for their Sunday school classes in various rooms in the lower level. The following are class descriptions for the spring quarter:
Adults (9:00 am, meeting in the hospitality room): Pastor Tim teaches "Family Builders". Children are welcome too, as part of this class is about parental authority and discipline. (Your child will grow to appreciate you!
Pre-school (10:30 am, ages 3-4, meeting in the nursery – sanctuary level)
Unit 1: God Created the World
God created sky and land, plants and animals and most importantly people.
Unit 2: God is with Noah
What made Noah stand out in history is that God chose him.
Unit 3: God is with Elijah and Elisha
Few Bible characters worked more miracles that this pair. Walk with them and see God’s power in action.
Primary (10:30 am, ages 5-7, meeting in the lower level)
Unit 1: Paul, a Changed Man
Students will see how Paul became a believer and changed his ways, from stoning Stephen to escaping his own stoning.
Unit 2: Paul, a Prisoner for Jesus
Primaries will learn how Paul was committed to God and protected by God from angry mobs, storms, and other miracles.
Middler (10:30 am, ages 8-10, meeting in the lower level)
Unit 1: God the Holy Spirit
Learn why the Holy Spirit can help us, why Pentecost is a special day, and why being full of the Holy Spirit is important.
Unit 2: God Stands with Us
Christians can face even the most difficult of situations in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Unit 3: God Can Use Us
Middlers can be useful as they learn that God has a plan for them to be lights pointing to Jesus as we live His example in attitude and behavior.
Young Teen (10:30 am, ages 11-14, meeting in the lower level)
Unit 1: In the Beginning God Said
Go on a journey from the Garden of Eden to the Tower of Babel to see why it is important to obey the things God says.
Unit 2: My Daily Voyage With God
Helping young teens learn that consistent Bible reading and prayer are a quest for valuable treasure.
Unit 3: Spiritual Champions
Just as an athlete must overcome obstacles, students' faith in God’s ability to help them through difficulties will grow.
